I liked the overlapping semi circles and the reflected light…was hard to take without a tripod though.

red and white boat
red and white boat, originally uploaded by Richard Adams.
One from Montreal…I couldn’t resist the intersecting planes, geometric proportions and the vibrant contrast of red and white…taken with a 400 lens to flatten the planes.

Squares, building, red, blue
Squares, building, red, originally uploaded by Richard Adams.
Amazing what you see when you look above the shopline on buildings. This was a wonderful cold to hot colour spectrum reflected in a stainless steel building in Sheffield. I was struck by the colours but pleased with the way that the geometry plays with the grid.
It’s a [...]

Logans Run? Bank Tube Station
Logans Run? Bank Tube Station, originally uploaded by Richard Adams.
I couldn’t resist this shot of a corridor in Bank Underground station. The lighting, shape and emptiness reminded me of so many scifi films from the 70’s. It reminded me of Logan’s Run, Buck Rogers and many more.
I think that the lonely figure in the [...]

Canary Wharf Station
Canary Wharf Station, originally uploaded by Richard Adams.
Of course this view has been photographed a billion times (probably). I still wanted to take one myself. I was pleased with the oversaturated blacks and the hint of blue green in steel. I was also pleased with the asymmetry of the oval which compositionally I think gives [...]

Beach Huts; West Wittering
West Wittering, May Day Bank Holiday, originally uploaded by Richard Adams.

Reflected sunset, The (lacking) Heart, Walton on Thames
reflected sunset, the heart, walton on thames, originally uploaded by Richard Adams.
I really like this one because it takes the soulless architecture that is being built in towns and brings out a side of it that one always wants to exist…

southend pier jan04
southend pier jan04, originally uploaded by Richard Adams.
This has been one of my favourites for a long time. It’s of Southend Pier in Essex which is/was a mile long. I was there not long after sun up and this shot was basically an accident of the atmospheric conditions. I took several from similar angles and [...]

Jet Age
Jet Age, originally uploaded by Richard Adams.
I loved the chance to photograph this oddity in Woking. The sun and sky combined with the silver feel of the plane combined to make it look very ‘Jet Age’. It also looks really dynamic and interesting, not least because the office block next to it is so close…I [...]
